Pitney Merrill No More?, Pitney Bowes Booted Out of Merrill? Options

I heard a rumor that Pitney Bowes and that gang of Black Women are no longer at Merrill.

Since I have been waiting to hear this for 5 years, I'm not sure at this point that I actually heard it or if I just dreamed it again.

The nature of the temping market in NYC is that you can have reject losers with nothing going for them (like Viki Touchberry for example, the beauch a total and complete idiot with absolutely nothing going for her) who can some how manage to get into a position to impact thousands of people's lives (by being in charge of temps at some company).

I would say that the only people on the planet that I hated more than Touchberry were those Black Women fired by Merrill and handed over to Pitney Bowes. These women were the most horrible people I have ever run into temping in New York City.

at one time, I heard these women joking amongst themselves about how they cancelled so many temps that Merrill management had taken the ability to cancel temps away from them.

These women joked about how they would go up to a temp and say "Call Your Agency", which was their little signal that they had called the temp's temp agency and cancelled the temp's temp assignment.

And get this, while not thinking twice about actually pissing me off, it turned out that some of these women were actually engaged in a scheme to get kickbacks from car vouchers.

ATTENTION TO ALL: if you are actually going to deliberately piss me off, make sure you are NOT doing something illegal.

I'm sure Pitney Bowes had no idea what it was getting into when it jumped at the chance to be the outsourcer when Merrill asked Pitney Bowes to take that gang of women off it hands. I think that perhaps Pitney Bowes never fully understood WHY Merrill really wanted it to take over its WP Center (and thereby to take about 20+ Black women off of Merrill's payroll and put them on Pitney Bowes' payroll).

But, if what I'm hearing is true, the wheels of justice may grind slow but they do grind. And that gang of women, or what's left of that gang of women, are finally out of Merrill.

Merrill Lynch is a kick-ass company to work for. What impressed me most about Merrill was that it didn't just fire all of these women out right when that little car voucher fraud scheme came to light. Oh, and who do you suppose alerted Merrill to the fact that something was going on? As I said, if you are going to piss me off, make sure you're not doing something that's illegal.

The temping community is now bracing for where this gang might now show up. Hopefully, they will be sent over to Proskauer Rose where Pitney also has an account (or some other Pitney account).

I know we are all praying that this gang NOT show up in any other word processing centers in the city.

About 5 years ago, a temp was telling me about what happened when Merrill informed that gang of Black Women that they were all going to be fired and sent over to Pitney Bowes. This temp said that one of these women broke down crying and said: "What am I going to do? I ain't got no skills".

I think that says it all, don't you?
